Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
It was after college that Dr. Hill decided to pursue a career as a dentist, but her interest in dentistry peaked when
she was in high school. She took a gap year between college and dental school so that she could decide between
dentistry and medicine. After great deliberation, she aimed for dentistry, and she’s never looked back since!
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Hill studied at the University of North Carolina for both her undergraduate degree and dental doctorate.
Currently, she is in full-time academics training dentists to specialize in pediatric dentistry. She started her
full-time academics three decades ago but later shifted to full-time private practice to have more family time while
maintaining a part-time teaching position. After her youngest child graduated college, she sold her practice and
went back to full-time academics. Her focus is teaching and providing dentistry in a hospital setting to patients
with special health care needs.
Dr. Hill remains dedicated to seeking continuing education to expand and improve her skills and expertise.
Additionally, she is a member of the Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatric
Dentistry.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Whenever she isn’t at the office, Dr. Hill enjoys being with her family and her beautiful son and daughter.
Other than treating pearly whites and helping people, she also loves animals and has been a pet foster for a rescue
organization for about two years. The group she works with saves animals with special medical needs whose treatment
extends beyond the resources that local animal shelters can provide. She also enjoys being with her church family on
Sundays and doing community outreach!
